British county flags: every registered county and region

Most historic counties of England, Scotland and Wales now have a flag of their own, and many are entered on the Flag Institute’s UK Flag Registry. This page gathers more than 60 of them, from Cornwall and its black flag with the white cross of St Piran to the white rose of Yorkshire, the Black Country chains and the Highland and island counties of Scotland such as Aberdeenshire and Caithness.

Where county flags get flown

County days are the busiest dates: Yorkshire Day on 1 August, St Piran’s Day on 5 March, Lincolnshire Day on 1 October. Village fetes, county shows, cricket grounds and pubs fly them all summer, and many people simply want the flag of the county they grew up in on a garden pole.

Formats

Each county page shows every version we hold: 5ft x 3ft and 3ft x 2ft flags, bunting, hand flags and table flags. Where a county has an old and a new design, both are listed so you can choose. All county flags are stocked in and dispatched from our Stoke-on-Trent warehouse.
