The Warwickshire flag sets the bear and ragged staff on a red field: a white bear, muzzled and chained, standing against a staff with its branches lopped off.
The badge belonged to the medieval Earls of Warwick, whose legendary ancestors were said to have overcome a bear and torn up a young tree. The design was registered as the county flag after a public vote.
It flies at Edgbaston, the Stratford Mop and the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, and on civic poles in Warwick, Leamington, Rugby and Nuneaton.
