Robin Hood, bow drawn, stands in the top corner by the pole of the Nottinghamshire flag, above a green field crossed by a white-edged red cross.
The green stands for Sherwood Forest, the red cross for the St George's cross carried by the county's towns for centuries, and the archer for the outlaw the world associates with Nottingham. The design was chosen by public vote and registered with the Flag Institute.
It flies at Trent Bridge for cricket, at the Robin Hood Festival in Sherwood, at Forest and Notts County matches and at Goose Fair.
