Euro 2028: the UK and Ireland host
Euro 2028, the UEFA European Championship, runs from 9 June to 9 July 2028 and is hosted jointly by England, Scotland, Wales and the Republic of Ireland. England last hosted the tournament on its own at Euro 96; Euro 2020 was spread across Europe, with the final at Wembley. Twenty-four teams will play 51 matches; the opening match is in Cardiff and the final at Wembley. The qualifying draw is in Belfast on 6 December 2026, qualifying groups start in March 2027 and the play-offs are in March 2028, so the full list of 24 teams will not be known until spring 2028. This page stays at the same address all the way through, and the flags for every likely qualifier are in stock now.
Euro 2028 host cities and stadiums
Nine stadiums in eight cities: Wembley Stadium and Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, the City of Manchester Stadium, Everton’s new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock in Liverpool, Villa Park in Birmingham, St James’ Park in Newcastle, the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Hampden Park in Glasgow and the Aviva Stadium in Dublin. Casement Park in Belfast was dropped from the plan in 2024, so Northern Ireland will not host matches, though its team enters qualifying like everyone else.
Do the hosts qualify automatically?
No. England, Scotland, Wales and the Republic of Ireland all have to play qualifying. UEFA has kept two places in the finals for the best-ranked hosts that fail to qualify through their groups, so at least two of the four will be there. Northern Ireland, as a non-host, has to qualify on the pitch.
Home nations and Ireland flags
England: the St George’s Cross from 20x12in to 8ft x 5ft, England bunting, the England giant bunting for the pub or the street, hand flags, the England car flag and the Three Lions car flag; the full range is in the England flags hub. Scotland: the Saltire, the Lion Rampant that fills Hampden, Lion Rampant bunting, hand flags and the car flag, all in the Scotland flags hub. Wales: the Welsh dragon, Wales bunting, hand flags and the Wales car flag for the opening match in Cardiff, with the rest in the Wales flags hub. Republic of Ireland: the tricolour, Ireland bunting, hand flags and the Ireland car flag, with the county flags in the Irish flags hub. Northern Ireland: the Northern Ireland flag and bunting.
Flags of the other likely qualifiers
The teams that reach most Euros will be back: Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Portugal, the Netherlands, Belgium, Croatia, Denmark, Switzerland, Austria, Turkey, Poland, Ukraine, Hungary, Czech Republic, Serbia, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Albania, Georgia, Sweden, Norway and Greece. Each country page has the full-size flag, hand flags, table flags and bunting, and every other nation is in the European flags hub. A pub or a fan zone that wants all the teams can use the 16-nation European bunting or the 24-nation mini bunting, and there is more mixed-flag bunting in multi-nation bunting.
Euro 2028 flag FAQs
When is Euro 2028?
From Friday 9 June to Sunday 9 July 2028. The opening match is in Cardiff and the final is at Wembley.
Where is Euro 2028 being held?
In England, Scotland, Wales and the Republic of Ireland, at nine stadiums: Wembley, Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the City of Manchester Stadium, Everton’s Bramley-Moore Dock stadium, Villa Park, St James’ Park, the Principality Stadium, Hampden Park and the Aviva Stadium in Dublin.
Do England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland qualify automatically for Euro 2028?
No. All four play qualifying. Two places are kept for the best-ranked hosts that do not qualify through the group stage, so at least two host nations will take part.
When does Euro 2028 qualifying start?
The draw is in Belfast on 6 December 2026, qualifying matches start in March 2027 and the play-offs are in March 2028.
How many teams play at Euro 2028?
Twenty-four, the same as at Euro 2016, 2020 and 2024: twenty direct qualifiers plus the play-off winners and any reserved host places.
What size flag should I buy for a pub or a fan zone?
5ft x 3ft for a wall, a window or a house pole; 8ft x 5ft for a big wall in a pub or a fan zone, or a pole of 25ft or more. For the street, giant bunting with oversized pennants is the easiest way to cover the distance.
How quickly can you deliver flags during the tournament?
Everything on this page is in stock in our Stoke-on-Trent warehouse. Orders placed before 2pm are dispatched the same day with free 1–2 day UK delivery, so flags for a team that has just qualified for the knockout rounds can arrive before the next match.
