The Saxony-Anhalt flag has two horizontal bands, black over yellow, with the state coat of arms in the centre.

The state was re-formed in 1990 on German reunification from the Prussian province of Saxony and the former Duchy of Anhalt, and its arms combine symbols of both, including the Anhalt bear on a wall.
