The Surrey Old flag is the earlier pattern flown around the county before the chequered design was registered with the Flag Institute in 2014, and it draws on the county's traditional heraldry.
Surrey's heraldry goes back to the de Warenne Earls of Surrey, whose blue and gold chequy shield has represented the county on seals, badges and the county council's arms since the Norman period.
It stays in stock for anyone matching a flag that is already on the pole, or hanging the old and new designs side by side at a show or civic event.
