Wallis and Futuna's flag is red, with a white-edged French tricolour in the upper hoist and a white cross of four triangles, set saltire-wise, in the middle.

The red field and white cross come from the traditional flag of the Kingdom of Uvea on Wallis, linked to the Marist missionaries who arrived in 1837; the tricolour marks the islands' status as a French overseas collectivity.
