Description
The US Navy Flag features the official seal of the United States Navy, which was designed in 1775, the same year the Navy was officially founded. The seal depicts a bald eagle, symbolizing the United States, along with a ship, representing the Navy's essential role in protecting maritime interests. The Navy's first official flag was adopted in 1864, and since then, the design has been used to honor the Navy's long history of service. The deep blue background and gold fringe around the seal signify the Navy's commitment to the nation, the sea, and the protection of freedom.
The US Navy Flag is typically displayed during significant military holidays, such as Navy Day (October 27), Memorial Day, and Veterans Day. It is flown at Navy bases, military installations, and ships at sea, symbolizing the strength and readiness of the U.S. Navy. Additionally, the flag is prominently featured at Navy-related events, ceremonies, and memorials, where it serves as a symbol of respect for the sacrifices of the men and women who serve in the Navy. This flag is a reminder of the Navy's vital role in ensuring national and global security.
