The Suffolk Old flag is the banner of the former county council's arms: a gold sun rising over the sea on a red shield.
The rising sun recalls Suffolk's place as the most easterly county, with Lowestoft's Ness Point the first spot in Britain to greet the dawn. It flew on civic buildings for decades before the crown and arrows of St Edmund were registered as the county flag in 2017.
It is chosen by people who grew up with it, by older civic buildings and by anyone matching an existing display.
- Suffolk Old Flag sizes: 20x12in (50 x 30 cm), 3ft x 2ft (90 x 60 cm), 5ft x 3ft (150 x 90 cm), 8ft x 5ft (240 x 150 cm)
- Grades: DuraFlag 150gsm knitted polyester with a reinforced header and four rows of stitching; Flagtex woven polyester, a light, bright economy grade with eyelets
