Rhodesia DuraFlag

This is the Rhodesia flag of 1968 to 1979: a vertical triband of green, white and green with the coat of arms in the centre. The green shield carries a gold pick, beneath a gold band bearing a red lion between two thistles, and is supported by two sable antelopes.

It replaced the earlier light-blue ensign on 11 November 1968 and was lowered in 1979, before Zimbabwe's independence in 1980. The pick referred to mining, and the lion and thistles were taken from the arms of Cecil Rhodes.

Today it is bought mainly by collectors, historians and people with family links to the country, for display at home or at reunions.
