Paris Flag

The Paris flag is divided vertically into two equal halves, blue at the hoist and red at the fly.

Blue and red have been the colours of the city since the Middle Ages, and in July 1789 they were combined with royal white in the cockade that became the French tricolour. The city also uses a coat of arms showing a ship with the motto Fluctuat nec mergitur.

Paris Saint-Germain supporters, francophiles and themed restaurants fly it, especially around Bastille Day on 14 July.
