Orange Order DuraFlag

The Orange Order flag is an orange field with a purple seven-pointed star at its centre and the red St George's cross on white in the upper hoist canton.

Orange recalls William of Orange, whose victory at the Boyne in 1690 the Loyal Orange Institution commemorates; the order itself was founded in 1795 at Loughgall in County Armagh. Purple, used for the star, is the colour of the order's senior degree and runs through its sashes and banners.

Lodges and members fly it through the marching season, on Twelfth of July parades and at Boyne commemorations in Northern Ireland, Scotland and Liverpool. The Orange Order DuraFlag is built for long spells outdoors, with a stitched header and fabric that resists fraying at the fly.
