The Norfolk New (No Crest) DuraFlag is the registered county flag: a gold field crossed by a broad diagonal band of ermine, white with black tails, from the top of the hoist to the bottom of the fly.

The arms are those attributed to Ralph de Gael, Earl of Norfolk after the Norman Conquest, and the ermine bend on gold has stood for the county for centuries. The plain banner, without the council's crest, was registered with the Flag Institute in 2014.

Norfolk Day on 27 July, the Royal Norfolk Show, Carrow Road and the sailing clubs of the Broads are where it is seen most.
