The yellow stripe at the top represents the unity of the country's diverse ethnic groups, the green symbolizes peace and the fertile lands of Myanmar, while the red signifies the courage and resilience of the people. The white five-pointed star at the center is a symbol of the union of Myanmar's different regions.

The Myanmar New (Burma) Flag is flown on national holidays, government buildings, and during public celebrations to honor the country's history, independence, and culture. Significant occasions such as Independence Day (January 4), Union Day (February 12), and Armed Forces Day (March 27) see the flag proudly displayed across the country. The flag also flies during international events where Myanmar is represented, such as sporting competitions and cultural celebrations, as a symbol of the country's national pride and identity.
