Niue DuraFlag

Niue's flag is a golden yellow field with the Union Flag in the canton. On the Union Flag sit five yellow stars: four small ones on the arms of the St George's cross and a larger one inside a dark blue disc at the centre.

It was adopted in 1975, a year after Niue became self-governing in free association with New Zealand. The gold stands for bright sunshine and the warmth felt towards New Zealand and its people, the small stars echo the Southern Cross, and the large star is Niue itself.

Pacific community groups raise it for Constitution Day in October, and collectors use it to complete Commonwealth and Pacific sets.
