Saudi Arabia DuraFlag

Saudi Arabia's flag is a green field bearing the Shahada, the Islamic declaration of faith, in white Arabic calligraphy, with a white sword beneath it.

The current form was adopted in 1973, based on the banner of the Al Saud family. Because it carries the Shahada, the flag is never flown at half mast.

It is flown on National Day, 23 September, on Flag Day, 11 March, and at football and business events with Saudi links. Knitted polyester lets the wind pass through the weave, so the Saudi Arabia DuraFlag keeps its shape and colour on a pole that stays up for months.
