The Peru Crest DuraFlag is the state flag: three vertical bands of red, white and red, with the national coat of arms on the white, showing a vicuña, a cinchona tree and a cornucopia spilling gold coins.

General José de San Martín created the first Peruvian flag in 1820, and the vertical layout was fixed in 1825. The shield stands for the animal, plant and mineral wealth of the country.

It is the version used by embassies and official buildings and is popular for Fiestas Patrias on 28 and 29 July. The Peru Crest DuraFlag is built for long spells outdoors, with a stitched header and fabric that resists fraying at the fly.

  • Peru Crest DuraFlag sizes: 20x12in (50 x 30 cm), 3ft x 2ft (90 x 60 cm), 5ft x 3ft (150 x 90 cm), 8ft x 5ft (240 x 150 cm)
