Sectional Flag Pole
£69.98
The Marshall Islands flag is a deep blue field crossed by two diagonal stripes, orange above white, which rise from the lower hoist and widen towards the upper fly. In the canton sits a white star of twenty-four points, four of which are extended to form a cross.
Adopted on 1 May 1979, when the constitution came into force, it was designed by Emlain Kabua. The two stripes stand for the Ratak (sunrise) and Ralik (sunset) island chains, and the points of the star for the municipal districts, the four long points forming a cross.
Pacific associations fly it for Constitution Day on 1 May, and it is a regular request for model United Nations sessions, school projects and complete world-flag sets.
