Upcoming Events – Flags & Bunting for the Next Date in the Calendar

The year in flags

Spring opens with the patron saints: St Patrick's Day on 17 March, with the Irish tricolour, shamrock and Happy St Patrick's Day flags and the green-and-white bunting the pubs put up a week early, then St George's Day on 23 April with the red cross in every size from a 9x6in hand flag to an 8ft x 5ft DuraFlag. The Six Nations runs through February and March with the England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, France and Italy flags, and Easter and Mother's Day move with the church calendar, so check the date each year. May brings Eurovision and the forty-odd entrant flags for a party; summer brings Armed Forces Day on the last Saturday in June and, in a tournament year, the World Cup. Autumn is Remembrance, with the poppy, Lest We Forget and Britain Remembers flags and poppy bunting for the two weeks to 11 November. Valentine's Day on 14 February and the Olympics complete the list.

Why the same flag appears in two places

An event collection does not hold special products; it holds the ordinary ones sorted by date. The St George flag on the St George's Day page is the same product as on the England flags hub, and the Ireland flag in the Six Nations is the one under Irish flags. Use the event page when you are shopping for an occasion and the country hub when you want every size and format of one flag; Halloween, Christmas, Bonfire Night, Oktoberfest and the birthday range live under celebration flags.

Ordering for a date

Orders placed before 2pm leave our Stoke-on-Trent warehouse the same working day with free 1 to 2 day UK delivery, so the practical cut-off for a Saturday event is Wednesday afternoon, and a Monday order lands midweek. The busiest weeks are the run-up to St Patrick's Day, St George's Day and Remembrance Sunday; the flags are stocked all year, but bunting in the popular lengths goes first, so order the bunting as soon as the date is in the diary.
