This Azores DuraFlag carries a field divided vertically, blue at the hoist and white at the fly, with a gold goshawk beneath an arc of nine gold stars over the join and the Portuguese shield in the canton. For background, the nine stars stand for the nine islands, and the hawk, or acor, gave the archipelago its name.
