Switzerland DuraFlag

The Swiss flag is a red field with a white cross whose four equal arms are each one sixth longer than they are broad.

Swiss troops wore the white cross as a field sign from the fourteenth century, federal troops carried the red flag with the cross from 1840, and its shape was fixed by the Federal Council in 1889.

It flies on Swiss National Day, 1 August, at ski resorts and chalets, and at tennis and football events with Swiss players. The Switzerland DuraFlag is built for long spells outdoors, with a stitched header and fabric that resists fraying at the fly.
