The celebration calendar, section by section
This is the parent page for the occasion flags, so the quickest way in is by date. Birthday is the largest section, with the plain Happy Birthday flags in several colours, the milestone flags for the 18th, 21st, 40th, 50th and 60th, and the cake and bottle designs with bunting and hand flags to go with them. Christmas runs from the Merry Christmas greetings flags through Santa, snowman and nativity designs to text bunting for the bar. Halloween has pumpkins, witches, bats and bones for 31 October, Easter the Happy Easter and egg flags plus the Easter Rising flags for the Irish commemoration, Mother's Day a small set of flag, bunting, hand flag and table flag, and Oktoberfest the Bavarian lozenge flags with and without the crest. Other celebrations picks up New Year, Valentine's, Father's Day, Just Married, It's a Boy and It's a Girl, Mardi Gras, retirement, Armed Forces Day and the poppy and remembrance flags.
Patron saints, royal events and tournaments
St George's Day, St Patrick's Day, the Six Nations, Eurovision and the World Cup have their own collections under upcoming events, where the national flags are grouped by the date they are needed; the flags themselves are the same England, Ireland and world-country products you will find on the country hubs. Royal and civic occasions are usually a Union Jack question, and Pride has its own section under other flags.
What you get for the money
A celebration flag is normally 5ft x 3ft printed Flagtex polyester with a sewn header and two brass eyelets at £7.99, with 3ft x 2ft at £6.99 on the designs that have it and 8ft x 5ft at £19.99 on the popular ones. The greetings designs that go up every year, such as Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and the yellow Happy Birthday, also come as 150gsm DuraFlags for a pole that is exposed to the weather. Rectangle bunting in 3m and 9m lengths is £9.98 and £15.99, 9x6in hand flags are £5.99 and the 9x6in wooden table flag with base is £2.99 to £5.99. Everything is stocked in and dispatched from our Stoke-on-Trent warehouse, same day before 2pm, so a flag ordered on Wednesday is usually up for a Saturday party.
Celebration flag FAQs
Which celebration flag goes up most?
The Happy Birthday flags, because a birthday happens every week somewhere on the street, followed by the Merry Christmas flags in December and the Happy Halloween flag at the end of October.
Do the designs come as bunting and hand flags too?
Most of the greetings designs do: a Happy Birthday, Merry Christmas, Happy Easter or Happy Mother's Day design will usually have a 5ft x 3ft flag, 3m and 9m rectangle bunting, a 9x6in hand flag and a wooden table flag on the same artwork.
Can I fly a birthday flag on a telescopic pole?
Yes; the 5ft x 3ft Flagtex flag clips onto a telescopic pole through its eyelets, and the DuraFlag versions come with clips fitted.
How far ahead should I order for a party?
Two working days is normally enough: orders before 2pm leave the same day and arrive in 1 to 2 days. December is the busy month, so order Christmas flags in November if you can.
Is there a flag for a specific age?
Yes, the birthday section has 18th, 21st, 40th, 50th and 60th flags alongside the plain Happy Birthday designs that suit any age.
Where are the Christmas and birthday DuraFlags?
Under the other-celebrations section and on the product pages of the Merry Christmas and Happy Birthday yellow flags, where DuraFlag is one of the quality options.
Can I get a personalised celebration flag?
Yes, with a name, a date or a photo, through the custom flag service, which prints single flags to your artwork in the EU.
