Supporters flags in club colours
A supporters flag in two plain colours does a job no crest flag can: it is legal to fly anywhere, it costs a fraction of a licensed club flag, and it works for every club that shares the colours, from the Premier League side to the Sunday league team and the rugby club down the road. This page gathers every two-colour format in one place, in the 22 pairings that cover the Football League, the SPFL, the Premiership, the Championship and the National League. The check flags are the backbone: black and white, red and white, blue and white, claret and sky, green and white, tangerine and white, black and gold, sky blue and white, maroon and white, red and black and a dozen more. Alongside them are the red and white, black and white, blue and white and navy and white striped flags for the clubs that play in stripes, and the checkered panel flags, a large-square version on a sleeve for a balcony or a terrace pole.
Check, stripe or panel?
The check is the traditional supporters’ pattern and the one that shows both colours from any angle as the flag folds. Stripes match the shirt and look right on a pole behind the goal or down the side of a coach. The panel flag is a bigger, bolder check of fewer squares that reads from the far end of a stadium or a high street, and it comes sleeved for a pole rather than eyeleted. Buy the check for a car, a window or a pub wall, the stripe for the shirt look and the panel for distance.
Match days, cup finals, away trips and the clubhouse
Supporters flags go on the coach for an away day, out of the bedroom and car windows for a cup final, across the bar for a play-off night, on the clubhouse pole for the home fixtures and in the school for a kit day. Amateur and junior clubs that cannot afford a printed crest flag use a two-colour check for the pitch-side pole and the presentation night, and supporters’ clubs abroad fly them because no licence is needed. The chequered flags in these colours also have their own chequered flags page, and the black and white check doubles as the motorsport finish flag on the racing flags page.
Sizes, grades and fittings
Every pairing is a 5ft x 3ft Flagtex printed woven-polyester flag with brass eyelets or a sleeve, from £7.99. The black and white, red and white and blue and white checks also come in 20x12in, 3ft x 2ft and 8ft x 5ft with a DuraFlag grade and clips or rope-and-toggle fittings for a clubhouse pole; claret and sky, green and white, blue and yellow and green and yellow add 20x12in and 3ft x 2ft with DuraFlag. The striped flags are in 3ft x 2ft and 5ft x 3ft. Everything is stocked in and dispatched from our Stoke-on-Trent warehouse, same day on orders before 2pm.
Club colour bunting
Black and white check bunting comes in 3m, 5m, 9m, 12m and 20m rectangle lengths, a triangle cut and a giant 18.25m length; blue and white, green and white, red and white, red and black, purple and white and royal blue and yellow check bunting are in 3m and 9m. A 9m length runs the length of a bar; mix a check with the matching plain-colour bunting for a fuller look.
Hand flags, windsocks and table flags
Large hand flags in claret and sky, black and orange, black and yellow, navy and white, sky blue and white and orange and white check join the 9x6in and 18x12in black and white, red and white, blue and white and green and white sticks for the junior section. Windsocks in claret and sky, blue and yellow, blue and white and black and white check fly from a campsite or a clubhouse pole, and the check table flags with base are 6x4in for the presentation table.
Supporters flag FAQs
Do I need a licence to fly a club colours flag?
No. These flags carry two plain colours and no crest, badge, name or trademark, so they can be flown, sold and printed on anywhere. A flag with the club’s badge would need the club’s licence.
Which colours are stocked?
Twenty-two check pairings: black and white, red and white, blue and white, claret and sky, green and white, blue and yellow, green and yellow, tangerine and white, black and gold, black and orange, black and yellow, sky blue and white, sky and navy, royal and navy, navy and white, maroon and white, purple and yellow, red and black, red and royal blue, red and green, red and yellow and blue and black, plus striped flags in red, black, blue and navy with white.
What is a panel flag?
A check flag made of a few large squares rather than many small ones, so the colours read from a distance. Panel flags are sleeved to slide over a pole and are the choice for a balcony, a terrace or a clubhouse mast.
Sleeved or eyeleted?
Eyelets tie or clip to a pole’s halyard, a fence or a window; a sleeve slides over a hand pole or a bamboo cane and is the usual choice for waving at a match or on a coach trip.
What size supporters flag for a car?
20x12in for a window or a car flag pole; 5ft x 3ft draped across the bonnet or the back seat for a cup final convoy.
Can a junior club order a set in one colour pairing?
Yes. A 5ft x 3ft check for the pitch-side pole, 9m of matching bunting for the clubhouse, a pack of hand flags for the under-8s and a table flag for the trophy table all ship together from UK stock.
Where are the rugby and county colours?
The same pairings cover most rugby clubs: red and white, black and white, blue and white, green and white, maroon and white and sky and navy. County cricket and the Irish county colours are on their own pages.
