Argentina Flags

The national flag of Argentina is a triband, composed of three equally wide horizontal bands coloured light blue, and white. There are multiple interpretations on the reasons for those colors.

The flag was created by Manuel Belgrano, during the Argentine War of Independence, on February 27 1812. It was the Congress of Tucumán which finally designated this design as the national flag, in 1816. even though the yellow Sun of May was not added to the center until 1818. The full flag featuring the sun is called the Official Ceremonial Flag. While both versions are considered the national flag, when flown together, the version lacking to sun of may must always be hoisted below the Official Ceremony Flag.

Being a widely respected flag in it's own country, on it's national flag day, a pledge is recited to children every year on February 27th.
