Canadian Flags

The Canadian flag, known unofficially as the Maple Leaf flag or l'Unifolié which is French for 'the one-leafed', was adopted in 1965 in order to replace the Union Jack flag as the national flag of Canada. The Canadian national flag features a verticle triband of the colours red, white and red in a ratio of 1:2:1 with an 11-pointed red maple leaf defaced in the center of the white band. The Maple Leaf has been seen as a symbol of Canada for a long time and has been used on some earlier military flags but gained popularity and had become known around the world when the new Canadian flag was created. The Maple tree and it's leaves have been a symbol of Canada for many years as the sap from the Maple tree was a food source used commonly by the Canadian aborigines and when the European settlers went to Canada they created maple syrup as a source of sugar that is still used by many around the world today.

Besides having the national Canadian flag for sale we also offer Canada Province flags and other miscellaneous Canadian flags.
