Adopted on the 4th May, this flag features the york rose, similar to the other two ridings, but instead of having a petal at the top, this flag features the rose with a sepal instead. The flag design features similar colours to that of the flag of the North Riding, with the green and blue split down the middle, they both have the similar representations, Green shows the rich agriculture and is on the fly to show it is in the east, and blue on the hoist shows the connection to the rest of yorkshire.
